Yeah, I still have kind of a bad taste in my mouth after Spider-Man 2, so let's see if we can wash away the bad taste from one popular yet awful game based on a movie based on a comic book, with another game based on a movie based on a comic book.
Batman the NES-game is based on Tim Burton's 1989 Batman-movie. Before I proceed with this review I feel I must admit that it's been several years since I saw the film last time, so my memory is kinda scewed but I remember liking it quite a lot! With that said, let's start talking about the game!

Game review - Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers
Its common knowledge by now that most licensed video games all kinda suck to some extent. There are exceptions, but theyre usually few and far between. Some of the more well-known exceptions are Goldeneye, Chronicles of Riddick, Batman: Arkham Asylum and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Note that all of these games are, to some extent, made for an older demographic and are all made after the rise of the third dimension. So here we have Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers, a game that was made BEFORE the rise of the third dimension, and was NOT made for an older demographic so what chance does this game have of being even close to dec

Game review - Kabuki Quantum Fighter
With a title like that, its a little hard to know what to expect. Of course, I saw Benzaies review of it before I bought it, but thats beside the point! There is a story, as it usually is to these kinds of games. I dont know why they never realized that these kinds of games need no other story than kill them! Despite that, Kabuki Quantum Fighter has a quite a decent story, although its all up for interpretation. From what I get, its the future and something in the computer is going apeshit, and since its the future, computers are the very source to human life (or at least we cant liv

Game review - Kirby's Adventure
Hey hey hey! It's been a while since I last did a game review, hasn't it? I've sure as hell missed it, so let's fix that by reviewing Kirby's Adventure, one of the finest games to ever grace the good old NES!
http://wikirby.info/images/2/26/Kirbys-adventure-nes-boxart.jpg This cover is just weird. I can kinda see what they were going for (having Kirby sucking in the background) but I can't really say it works. You'll have to look really close to see he's inhaling it. Of course, I can't say it's really bad either. The coloring is nice, Kirby's an appealing character (albeit his visual design wasn't quite nailed at the time, so he looks
So, Mega Man he had six games on the NES and, wait have I said this before? Oh right, go read my review of Mega Man 9!
Like I said in that review, there were six Mega Man-games released for the NES that ranged from decent to absolutely amazing, and when people argue about which one is the best, it's almost always a toss-up between Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3. Well, I grew up with Mega Man 2 and have now beaten Mega Man 3 so I thought I'd make a compare-review (much like I did with Banjo-Kazooie) and see which one is truly the better!

Lets say you come up with brand new, simple and ingenious idea for a video game. Lets say your game becomes a huge hit and spawns several imitators, both good and bad. People will undoubtedly praise the shit out of your game, because youre a genius and have created a wonderful subgenre! One day, several years later, some old skool gamer might come across your game after hearing all the praise and wants to feel that he/she wants to feel the pure awesome-ness of the game. He/she comes home, puts it into his/her (insert console of choice here) and realizes that your game has NOT aged well AT ALL thats basically my f

Game review - Super Mario Bros. 3
If you read my Super Mario 64-review, you might remember me stating that Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best Mario-game ever made (spinoffs not included) so naturally, it was just a matter of time before Id give it a review as well! The game was released on the NES almost 20 years ago, making it almost as old as me. I had it as a kid, but you all know by now what happened to that, so lets get right into the review!
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6c/Smb3.jpg Lets think back to the early 90s. Lets say youre about to buy a game for your son/grandson/nephew or maybe wanna try to get into this video game thin

Game review - Wizards and Warriors 3
Wizards & Warriors was a short-lived 2D-action-platformer-franchise for the NES. The series has a pretty dodgy history, and not the Sonic the Hedgehog or Mega Man kind of dodgy, no an entire different kind of dodgy altogether. I might do a review of the first two games at some point, but Ill focus on the only one I have for now! With that said, lets dig into Wizards & Warriors III: Kuros Vision of Power!

Video Game History lesson #7: NES-music by BurnedMatch, journal
Video Game History lesson #7: NES-music
Well, after reviewing Mega Man 3 and talking about the best of video game music, I felt inclined to make a list of my favorite video game songs but to limit myself, I decided only to take music from NES-games and only have one song per franchise. Also, no licensed soundtrack (ie, only songs made for the games) but even then, I had a bunch of songs I had to leave out. So I had to make a top 20-list! Also, only games that were released in Europe will make it onto this list. That means no Final Fantasy, no Dragon Warrior, no Metal Storm and no Mother!
This was NOT an easy list to make, and keep in mind that I'm not a musician in any
