Megaman, Pac Man, Mario, ROB, Duck Hunt Duo, DK, Pit, Little Mac, Link, Kirby and so many more still, so many retro NES heroes have gotten their rightful place to defend their honour in Smash. I love it how Nintendo still sees the value in their old franchises. NES REMIX, Hyrule Warriors, Nintendo Land, Super Mario Maker, Smash and more, so many games are still loyal to us old school gamers who grew up with or simply love the NES so much!
Final Fantasy started out on the NES, Nintendo and Square haven't always seen eye to eye in the past few generations but none the less, I always remembered the old days, I have always wanted Final Fantasy to be represented in Smash. Final Fantasy NEEDED to be represented in Smash.
Now, when they did it, I somehow always expected them to go back to the NES era, use a Black Mage, you can't get more iconic than that. A magic user, not another sword fighter. But Nintendo saved Square, gave birth to Final Fantasy, half of the main series was exclusive to Nintendo consoles and still hold some of the best in the line to this day so it was about time they acknowledged that somehow. Black Mage or not.
Final Fantasy VII is my least favourite in the main series, it is also not that retro with a gazillion revivals and spin offs and not very representative for Final Fantasy on Nintendo. On top of that Cloud is my least favourite character from said game BUT I do understand why Nintendo did this and it is still a brilliant marketing move and great for business and the future for Nintendo and Square.
Here is to hoping the Mii costume set will have some Black Mage goodness in it!

Yes, we're still playing with power!
Hey everyone! :#1:
I'm really sorry for this massive inactivity these past... two years? Damn, that's longer than I would have liked for sure.
I still have many ideas for digital art, and this group WILL NEVER be a dead group! Unfortunately a couple of months ago my life got kinda torn to shreds. It's okay, I seriously came out much better. I'm honestly happy. But my current situation is kinda tight, I don't have a new laptop yet, let alone a new tablet. So art on my side is kinda dead for the time being.
I won't let this group die though! I love you guys way too much, and I'm having too much fun here always! And I love talking about NES g
What NES games 'HD Remakes' would YOU love to see?
Hey everyone! :#1:
This last gaming generation has been more so about Remakes and Remasters than any other gen before. The Playstation 4 and Xbox 1 received so many Remasters from games that haven't even been out yet for a year that it's almost becoming a disgrace. It makes you forget that remakes can actually be a GREAT thing! And many great remakes have already come to pass. More so than you would probably think even!
In light of this I made a Youtube video where I talk about some of my favourite remakes done in the past few years and I also about remakes I would still love to see. You would be surprised at how many NES games are actually
Retro Icon Commissions OPEN!
Hey Everyone,
The (Pixel) Artist ValaSedai (https://www.deviantart.com/valasedai) has opened up her commissions. Usually I would not share such journals in this group but she is actually the person who designed our (to quote her own words) 'now out of date' group icon which I still love so damn much!
She has already done retro gaming pixel art before so if any of you were thinking about changing your avatar or in need of a new group icon go check out her work!

Using your imagination where you shouldn't.
Hey everyone! :#1:
I felt like just writing a random journal again, no features, no contest, just good old fashioned NES talk.
These days games are so super realistic, detailed and worked out, graphically insane or at the very least clearly defined by what you see. Now, like a lot of you here, I grew up with the NES, I started gaming ever since I could sit and hold a controller and kids have the craziest minds!
One thing I always love to think about is how I used to misinterpret certain sprites where I clearly saw them, and still remember them, as one thing but that in fact they were supposed to represent something completely different. Th

Still dancing with joy like an FF character who just won a battle. Honestly, I sort of thought that the FFVII remake might a launch title for NX...I doubt Nintendo would include such a high-profile character when his hyped game is only coming to a competitor's system. There has to be something else Nintendo is getting out of this.
Who else do you think will make it?!
